Appearance: White to pale yellow crystalline powder, odorless; very slightly soluble in water and ethanol, soluble in glacial acetic acid, dilute mineral acids, and chloroform/DMF (slightly soluble); mp≈208～212℃
Pharmacological Action: Benzimidazole broad-spectrum nematicide (also effective against some tapeworms/trematodes). It binds to β-tubulin in the worm’s body → inhibits microtubule polymerization → blocks glucose uptake and ATP production → leading to energy depletion, paralysis, and death of the worm (especially adults). High efficacy against adult worms, and also effective against some larvae (migration stage); partially metabolized in ruminants to albendazole sulfoxide (still active).
Indications: Broad-spectrum deworming for cattle, sheep, pigs, and poultry—gastrointestinal nematodes (Haemaphysalis, Osteria, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Orostachys esophagitis, Strongyloides, etc.), lungworms (Ducaria), some tapeworms (Monietzia), liver flukes (high dose/compound).
Storage conditions: Sealed, store at 0-6 ºC.
