Florfenicol

It is an animal-specific broad-spectrum antibacterial antibiotic (florfenicol) belonging to the amide class. It inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomes of bacteria. It is mainly used to prevent and treat respiratory infections (such as pleuropneumonia and Haemophilus parasuis infection), Escherichia coli infection, and salmonellosis in pigs, cattle, and poultry.

描述

CAS No. 73231-34-2
Molecular Formula: C₁₂H₁₄Cl₂FNO₄S

Appearance: White or off-white crystalline powder, odorless, bitter taste; very slightly soluble in water (≈1.3 mg/mL), slightly soluble in glacial acetic acid, soluble in methanol, ethanol, DMF, and DMSO; contains no chloramphenicol nitro group, and poses no risk of aplastic anemia.

Pharmacological Action: Amide alcohol broad-spectrum antibacterial antibiotic (animal-specific). Binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria → inhibits peptidyl transferase → blocks peptide chain elongation → inhibits protein synthesis. Effective against Gram-negative and Gram-negative bacteria and mycoplasma, especially sensitive to *Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae*, *Haemophilus parasuis*, *Pasteurella multocida*, *Streptococcus*, *Pasteurella multocida*, *Escherichia coli*, *Salmonella*, and *Haemophilus*; still effective against chloramphenicol-resistant strains.

Indications: Swine/bovine respiratory syndrome (APP, HPS, Pm, Mhp), avian *Escherichia coli*/Salmonella/chronic respiratory disease, bovine foot rot, aquatic *Aeromonas hydrophila* infection.

Storage Conditions: Sealed, protected from light, cool and dry place (<25℃).
