Q1: What is the basic information?
A1:
CAS No. 74610-55-2
Molecular Formula: C₅₀H₈₃NO₂₃
Appearance: White to pale yellow crystalline powder, bitter taste, hygroscopic. Readily soluble in water (>500 mg/mL), soluble in methanol and ethanol, practically insoluble in chloroform and ether. Aqueous solution pH ≈ 5.0–7.5.
Q2: What is its pharmacological action?
A2: Macrolide broad-spectrum antibiotic (bactericidal at high concentrations). Binds to 50S ribosomal subunit 23S rRNA → inhibits peptide chain translocation → blocks protein synthesis. Effective against G⁺ bacteria (Streptococcus, Staph. aureus, Corynebacterium pyogenes), Mycoplasma (highly sensitive to swine/avian strains), some spirochetes, Vibrio, and Chlamydia. Weakly effective against G⁻ bacteria. Also used as a growth promoter feed additive.
Q3: What are its indications?
A3: Mycoplasma infection in pigs/poultry (respiratory disease/CRD), swine infectious pleuropneumonia (combined with florfenicol), atrophic rhinitis, avian mycoplasma synoviae (combined with aminoglycosides), control of secondary bacterial infections. Tylosin premix used for growth promotion.
Q4: What are the storage requirements?
A4: Sealed, protected from light and moisture, store at 2–8°C.
