Enrofloxacin

It is a third-generation fluoroquinolone broad-spectrum bactericide (enrofloxacin) for animal use. It blocks DNA replication by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase. It is mainly used to prevent and treat mycoplasma diseases, E. coli and Salmonella diarrhea, infectious pleuropneumonia, and Haemophilus parasuis infections in pigs and poultry.

描述

CAS No. 93106-60-6
Molecular Formula: C19H22FN3O3

Appearance: Off-white to pale yellow crystalline powder, slightly bitter taste, extremely soluble in water, readily soluble in DMF, slightly soluble in methanol, practically insoluble in chloroform and ether; gradually turns pale yellow upon exposure to light.

Pharmacological Action: A third-generation fluoroquinolone broad-spectrum bactericide for animal use. It binds to the A subunit of bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV → blocks DNA supercoiling → inhibits DNA replication, transcription, and repair → bacterial death (concentration-dependent bactericidal action). Effective against Gram-⁻ (Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Pasteurella, Haemophilus, Proteus), Gram-⁺ (Streptococcus, some strains of Staphylococcus aureus), Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, and Mycoplasma eperythrocytes; partially metabolized in vivo to ciprofloxacin (still active).

Indications: Swine/avian mycoplasmal diseases, Escherichia coli/Salmonella diarrhea, swine infectious pleuropneumonia, Haemophilus parasuis infection, bovine mastitis (Gram-negative bacteria), aquatic bacterial septicemia.

Storage conditions: Sealed, protected from light, cool and dry place (<25℃).
